A mysterious string of disappearances on a certain train has caught the attention of the Demon Slayer Corps, and they have sent one of their best to exterminate what can only be a demon responsible. However, the plan to board the Mugen Train is delayed by a lesser demon who is terrorizing the mechanics and targeting a kind, elderly woman and her granddaughter. Kyoujurou Rengoku, the Flame Hashira, must eliminate the threat before boarding the train.
Sent to assist the Hashira, Tanjirou Kamado, Inosuke Hashira, and Zenitsu Agatsuma enter the train prepared to fight. But their monstrous target already has a devious plan in store for them and the two hundred passengers: by delving deep into their consciousness, the demon intends to obliterate everyone in a stunning display of the power held by the Twelve Kizuki.

This movie does an excellent job of incorporating a breathtaking and emotionally-charged storyline while maintaining the intense action-packed scenes that “Demon Slayer” fans know and love. It contains heartwrenching moments and dares to plunge into deep, emotional territories that are skillfully designed to resonate with viewers. Furthermore, the movie takes the central themes from the anime – familial love and the ongoing struggle between good and evil – and amplifies them to greater heights.
Characters
Character development, particularly for supporting characters, could easily have been overlooked in such a narrative-driven movie. However, “Mugen Ressha-hen” develops each character intricately without overshadowing the main plot. Fans get a closer look at the life and values of Kyojuro Rengoku, which turns his character into a layered and empathetic figure rather than just another supporting personality.
Animation and Sound
Hats off to Ufotable studio for such stunning animation. The fluidity of movement and breathtaking visual effects make every fight scene an absolute treat. Additionally, the soundtrack is exemplary and matches the emotions of each scene beautifully. It adds more depth to the already dynamic and dramatic scenes, enhancing the immersive experience massively.
