Whether you’re a die-hard fan of the series or someone just getting into the world of sports anime, this is a perfect one to binge over the weekend. You’ll find yourself right in the middle of the court, feeding off the high-energy basketball plays and deepening emotional content.
The storyline is rich and intense, exploring more in-depth the characters you’ve come to know and love from the original series. It beautifully strides the line between introducing new subplots and revisiting subtexts underneath familiar interactions – bringing depth to the ensemble cast. Moreover, the series does absolute justice to the sports genre, painting a vivid picture of high-stakes basketball matches. The thrill, the suspense, and the adrenaline rush that the game originates are exceptionally resonate in this series.
The animation is absolutely superb, with every dribble, pass, and shot elegantly drawn and fluidly animated, capturing the speed and excitement of a live game. As for the sound, the soundtrack is absolutely on point. It perfectly cements the viewing experience, giving that added layer of energy needed for a sports anime.
A special shout out to the character development department! Each of our favorites gets their moment in the limelight, which essentially adds to the series’ charm between games. The camaraderie, struggles, achievements, and dynamics are so tangibly presented that it’s hard not to get emotionally invested in it.
