About the Creator
Hey there. My name's Pete Harcoff and I'm the webmaster for the Anime Critic. I've been an anime fan since the Winter of 1997/98. I actually started out with manga, then quickly graduated to watching anime a few months later. Technically, the first anime I ever watched was Astroboy, but as a kid I didn't have a clue what "anime" was. Later in life I slowly became more aware of what anime was, but I didn't become a fan until one chance Friday night when I happened to catch Ninja Scroll on Teletoon (a Canadian animation channel). I was immediately hooked and watched more anime on Teletoon (including Macross Plus and the Patlabor movies) before beginning renting, then buying anime.
I also got interested in manga around the same time, buying both Ghost in the Shell and Dirty Pair: Fatal but Not Serious, which were the first manga I ever read.
