Faced with ever-increasing odds, the successor of Hokuto Shinken is forced to put his skills to the test in an effort to take back what he cares for most. And as these new challenges present themselves and the battle against injustice intensifies, namely his conflict with Shin and the rest of the Nanto Seiken school of martial arts, Kenshirou is gradually transformed into the savior of an irradiated and violent world.
ANIME REVIEW: HOKUTO NO KEN (FIST OF THE NORTH STAR)

It is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where civilizations have crumbled and chaos reigns. Amidst the dust and despair, emerges our protagonist, Kenshiro, the rightful successor of the martial art form known as Hokuto Shinken, or ‘The Divine Fist of the North Star’.
The story sets off with Kenshiro embarking on a difficult journey through this lawless wasteland in a relentless search for his abducted fiancee, Yuria. Along his journey, he encounters savage gangs, evil warlords, and destitute villagers, who he aids using his martial prowess. Against such hardcore skirmishes and fraught emotional encounters, the story paints a broad canvas of survival, justice, and the indomitable human spirit.
STORYLINE AND CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT
Hokuto no Ken hits all the right chords with the intricate weaving of plot and character development. The pacing is perfect and each story arc is well developed, giving each character their own time to shine and develop. Kenshiro is an exemplar of the stoic hero trope, walking the line between brooding and compassionate, while remaining wholesomely badass! His evolution from a journeyman to a true hero of the wastes is paced epically and resonates well with the viewers.
